近期,初中英语学科开展了新教师汇报课活动。今年新入职的三位教师袁思琪、史芳和彭欣分别在录课室进行了公开课展示。教导主任王莉和全体英语教师参加了听课和评课活动。
袁思琪老师展示的是GFI B7 Unit 9 My favorite subject is science. Section A 1a-2c的内容。本堂课立足学情,结合西班牙语班学生的兴趣点,以西语外教Inma需要优秀的同学帮忙组织召开圣诞派对为导入,整堂课组织学生互相协助、层层闯关,最终PK选出优秀的小组帮助外教组织圣诞派对。学生兴致盎然,通过讨论自己最喜欢的课及其原因,发现每门学科都有自己的精彩之处,那些没有打倒你的挫折将会使你变得更强大(What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.)。

史芳老师授课内容是剑桥青少版一级第六单元Eat for life的起始课。第六单元的主题是食物和健康的生活方式,旨在通过对生活方式的探讨,让同学们意识到健康和疾病在很大程度上都是每天微小行为集合后所产生的结果。本课通过五个教学环节,教材阅读材料的基础上,使用特定方法展示将其中杂乱无序的信息进行整理和归类的方法。在此基础上,提供另外一篇关于健康生活方式的文章,让同学们自己练习信息整理和归类的方法,并形成自己的观点进行口语输出。因此,理解信息的含义、对信息进行分类和整合是整堂课程的教学重点和难点。

彭欣老师主讲的是English in mind第六单元的听说课,整堂课目标是:帮助学生识别、记忆菜谱上的词汇,引导学生理解食堂点餐对话,指导学生通过小组合作形式完成点餐对话。本课以视频导入形式引入餐厅点餐相关词汇,为最后点餐环节做词汇积累。在听力环节,针对学生实际情况,分三步完成听力训练:首次听明确点餐内容,第二次听完成句型填空练习,第三次听跟读对话熟悉句型。在帮助学生总结梳理点餐用语后,由学生小组活动完成对话练习。教学设计符合B层学生学情,学生课堂参与度较好。

研究课结束后,英语组教师在集体教研时间开展了说课和评课活动。老师们根据研究课的设计和实施情况进行分析和反思,突出优点,指出不足,共同探索可以改进、提升的空间。本次汇报课活动充分展示了新教师的成长和进步,也有利于促进全体英语教师的专业化成长,实现以研促教,助力教师成长的目的。

This demonstration class doesn’t only practice the listening and speaking ability of students, but also helps me to know the psychological changes of my students. When I see the satisfaction on their faces, active participation and mutual help in this class, I am so proud of being their teacher and sharing more thought-provoking things with them. If I could demonstrate this class again, I would set more challenges and explore more fascinating points.
史芳/Alex:
This class is an experiment in the use of both authentic and classroom materials. Classroom Teaching materials are exclusively prepared for teaching a language, for example textbook/s etc and Authentic Materials such as web pages, pamphlets and brochures, which are meant for purposes other than teaching but are also used in a language classroom. Using this content to teach the English language can make the learning process even more engaging, imaginative and motivating for students. It can also be useful to elicit genuine responses from learners.
彭欣/Ruby:
As a new teacher at this school, it was my first time to perform an open class. I was so excited to deliver a lesson focusing on listening and speaking. I got so much help from Sue and other team members. I also learned a lot from this experience.
This lesson was lead-in by a video about ordering food. The learning objectives required some vocabulary building to better signal the lesson goals and intended student learning to how to order food in a restaurant. This was achieved by integrating media and pair work activities into the lesson. The students were attentive and performed well.
The areas I think could be improved would be as follows. Timing should be well prepared, drilling words wasted lots of time. Interactive patterns can be more flexible, checking answers for filling in the blanks can be finished by reading the text, students can do role-play in this part.
