9月21日， 初二年级学生在316口语教室开展了本学期的第一次英语角活动。 活动由初二（6）班 智小泉、沈睿两名学生主持。本期英语角以“神话和传说”为主题，开展了丰富有趣的活动，大家与来参加本次英语角的英国教师Natasha分享中国的神话传说，并学习了从希腊神话演变而来的英语习语。活动气氛轻松愉悦，结束后，同学们纷纷表示希望能再次参加。
从本学期开始，初中部三个年级分别开展了英语角的活动，以备课组为单位，制定了详细的计划，确定了每一期活动的时间，地点，话题，以及指导教师等，并邀请外教加入。教师们希望能给学生创造更多的机会，锻炼自己的英语表达，展现他们的风采。
Students doing great at“English Corner”
At 1:00 Sep 21, the students from grade 8 were having the activity “ English Corner”, and this was the first time.
The two hosts were Eric Zhi and Bryant Shen from class 6, grade 8. And they had chosen a cool topic “Myth and Legend”.
The theme of“English Corner” this week was about Myths and Legends. It was started with an interesting activity in which the hosts had prepared 6 traditional Chinese legends and asked participants to discuss and share their own ideas on the story and the hero or heroine in the story. After one presented, the audience may also ask questions or further completed their ideas. The activities was carried on in a relaxing atmosphere and everyone’sperformance was amazing. Finally they got a conclusion for what all heroes may have in common, just like one of the host said “ He was a hero in the myth, not only becauseofhis bravery and intelligence, but also a positive, determined attitude, a willing heart, and a plan.”
The second part,the students learned about 6 phrases from Greek myths and the foreign teacher gave them some examples about how to use them in daily life.
The“English Corner”this weekwas really successful.Students can not only learn traditional Chinese culture and Greek myths but also feel more comfortable and confident when speaking English.It was a fantastic beginning, wish that the English Corner will be better and better.
